Historic Tarboro Walking Tour

   
  With over 200 years of history, Downtown Tarboro has many beautiful, historic locations that you can visit on foot! Including our town common, which is the second oldest town common in the country.  
     
  And did you know that you can take a guided tour of Historic Tarboro right from your phone? All you have to do is download the GeoTourist app from your phone's app store and allow it to guide you through all 3.4 km of Tarboro's scenic historic locations!  
     
  You can even take a guided walking tour of some of our most historic homes!  
     
   
  To Download and Use GeoTourist:
  1. Open your phone's app store
  2. Search for "GeoTourist"
  3. Download the app with a blue globe and green headphones
  4. When it is finished downloading, open GeoTourist
  5. Allow the app to access your location
  6. Click the "Around Me" category when you are in Downtown Tarboro
  7. Click the "Tour of Historic Tarboro" or the "Tarboro Historic Homes Walking Tour"
  8. Click "Start"
  9. Allow the app to guide you to the first location on the map
  10. Click the "Play" button to listen to the location's history
  11. Allow the app to guide you around from here!
